Scott Farm
ALDHA typically conducts a work trip in the fall, and since this year's Gathering is going to be held in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania, the suggestion has been made to volunteer our services to fix up Scott Farm, located on the Appalachian Trail just outside of Carlisle.
Scott Farm is the headquarters of the Mid Atlantic trail crew, a group that undertakes major trail maintenance projects during the course of the summer. The house and property are undergoing major renovations, and ALDHA has offered to help out in a work project that would take place on one or two days following the Gathering.
For more information, contact ALDHA Coordinator Noel DeCavalcante via aldha@connix.com and mention the words "Scott Farm" in the note field. Your note will be forwarded to Noel for response.
UPDATE: (10-29-96) The Mid-Atlantic Trail Crew folks reported that no work was necessary on the farm itself, and no projects in the vicinity of the October Gathering were therefore planned. But we plan to finish off the Cloudland Privy job this fall, and other ideas are flowing for the '97 season, including one from Wolff "Jester!" Alternman to repaint The Place in Damascus, Virginia, before next year's northies arrive.
