Archive copies of ALDHA newsletters

We have begun the process of scanning in all the past ALDHA newsletters. Now members can take a trip down memory lane and see just how far we have come as an organization since we were formally organized in March 1983. There are roughly 70 issues to be scanned, each one at least 8 pages, some more than that. So please be patient while we tackle this project as carefully and efficiently as possible. Thanks!

Here is a sample of how they will look. We did not opt to go with PDF formats, since the file size became too unwieldy (11 megabytes or more per issue.) Hence the quality of the images is not as sharp as it might otherwise be. Let us know how this works for you. Perhaps we can devise another way to do it.

Fall 1984
The year was 1984. Mondale vs. Reagan. Warren was ALDHA coordinator. Don Pelletier and Steve Markiewicz were newsletter co-editors. Ed Garvey nominated someone for a future Hikers Hall of Fame, and the public notices section asked if there was any interest in an ALDHA logo and patch.
