Frank and Victoria Logue have written several books since their 1988 northbound thru-hike under the trail names “The Hawk and the Dove.” This former Rome, Ga., couple have been quite prolific with the backpacking pen. They’ve appeared on CNN to talk about hiking and have been longtime contributors to ALDHA. Victoria edited the ALDHA newsletter for several years, and Frank served as coordinator of the group, as well as coordinator of the first Gathering at Hanover, N.H., the first time it took place outside of Pipestem, W.Va.

Both were active with their maintaining club, the Nantahala Hiking Club. And Frank served on the former board of managers of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. They also have their own home page, planetanimals.com/logue, with detailed information about the books they’ve published, among them:
