The Cohos Trail
159 miles

Location
The northern Terminus of the Cohos Trail is located at the New Hampshire/Canadian border north of the Connecticut Lakes. The southern terminus is located in Crawford Notch.

Description
The Cohos Trail runs through New Hampshires most isolated and least populated terrain, from the rugged White Mountains north to the Canadian border. Highlights of the trail include more than 30 peaks, including 4 peaks over four thousand feet, still wild sections of the Connecticut River, and the wilderness of the Great North Woods. The trail is blazed with 2"x6" vertical yellow blazes, and brown wooden placards emblazoned with "CT". The trail is maintained by volunteers from the Cohos Trail Association.

When to Go
At this point hiking on the CT is not advised under winter conditions. Special care should also be taken during the fall large game hunting season.

Permits and Restrictions
Permits are not required, but camping is not allowed on some of the privately owned northern sections of the trail. Nearby state campgrounds provide a convenient place to stay and arrange to hike each section.

Resupply
Resupply may be difficult due to the remoteness of the trail. There are several small towns along the route, and businesses that will accept mail drops.
